Evaluators

Any NACES or AICE member; no company is recommended. Special pricing: IEE, Josef Silny, Scholaro and SpanTran (International transfer students).

First-year applicants: translated records, no agency

For first-year applicants, Coastal Carolina asks your secondary school to email transcripts, grade reports or exam results to the international admissions office, in the original language and with an official English translation (International first-year students).

No credential evaluation is listed for freshmen, so the translation is what the office reads. Translate the full high school diploma, grade reports and exam results.

For help with translations CCU sends applicants to the American Translators Association. eVerbary is an ATA corporate member, and can assign a translator individually certified by ATA on request.

Transfer and graduate: a verified course-by-course evaluation

Transfer and graduate applicants send college transcripts and diplomas with English translations, and every international transcript must also be evaluated by a NACES or AICE member: an authentic or verified course-by-course evaluation with a GPA (International transfer students, graduate).

Agencies set their own translation rules. IEE and Scholaro accept certified translators; SpanTran (TEC) and Josef Silny ask for ATA-certified translators, which eVerbary provides on request (see below).

Uploading the translation to Coastal Carolina

  • Schools email transcripts to internationaladmissions@coastal.edu; send your official English translations to the same office (International first-year students). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

  • Transfer and graduate applicants also send the translation to the evaluation agency, which sends its verified report to Coastal Carolina (International transfer students).

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Coastal Carolina, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Coastal Carolina that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation for transfer and graduate applicants is ordered by you from a NACES or AICE member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
