How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
CSUDH asks international freshmen, transfers and graduate applicants to upload photocopies of all academic records and, for records not issued in English, certified English translations submitted with the original translated document; it does not say who must translate.
California State University, Dominguez Hills accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
If admitted you send sealed official records, or, when your school cannot seal them, a NACES evaluation that includes copies of the records, which we do not provide.
CSUDH at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
CSUDH's required documentation page asks for "certified English translations" with the original document, for freshmen, transfers and graduate applicants alike, without restricting who makes them (required documentation); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Syllabi in English

CSUDH requirements in detail
Translation
Certified English translations, submitted with the original translated document (International applicants: required documentation).
Who may translate
Not stated.
What to translate
Upper secondary records, pre-university programs and external exam results such as GCSE, IB or board exams; transfers and graduate applicants add all college and university records (International applicants: required documentation).
Where to upload
The International Applicant Dropbox, with the coversheet showing your name and Toro ID; extra items appear in the MyCSUDH To Do List (International applicants: required documentation).
Official records
If admitted: sealed, stamped envelopes, or courier from the school or a vendor such as Parchment, MyCreds or Truecopy; emailed transcripts are never official (International applicants: required documentation).
NACES alternative
If your school cannot provide sealed records, a NACES evaluation with copies of the records; preferred: ECE, ERES, IEE, IERF, TEC, WES (International applicants: required documentation).
Deadlines (undergraduate)
Apply by May 1 for fall and November 1 for spring; documents by June 1 and November 29; graduate dates vary by program (checklist).
Translation with the original, from the first upload
CSUDH reviews applications from photocopies uploaded to its International Applicant Dropbox, and the rule is the same at every level: if the records are not officially issued in English, certified English translations must also be submitted with the original translated document (required documentation).
For freshmen that includes upper secondary schools, pre-university programs and external examination results; for graduate applicants, every college and university attended. Each packet carries the CSUDH coversheet.
Transfers who want courses counted toward a degree also send official course descriptions or syllabi in English (application checklist); if yours exist only in another language, those pages need a translation too, and ESL transcripts are part of the record set.
When your school cannot send sealed records
After admission CSUDH needs the original official records before the provisional document deadline, or registration for the second semester is blocked.
If the school cannot issue sealed records, CSUDH accepts a NACES evaluation report that includes copies of the records as the original.
Reports from ECE, ERES, IEE, IERF, The Evaluation Company or WES can arrive electronically; any other NACES member must mail the report and copies (International applicants: required documentation).
The agency will want the translation too: see translation for credential evaluation. Sealed records and diploma verification can also be handled in person at Welch Hall 245, by appointment.
Where CSUDH's pages differ
The application checklist says transcripts from institutions outside the US should be submitted only as paper documents in a sealed, stamped envelope, and that electronic transcripts from them are not official.
The required documentation page also accepts records sent directly by courier from the school or from third-party vendors such as Parchment, MyCreds or Truecopy.
We have not resolved this; ask int-admissions@csudh.edu which delivery your school's records need.
Need a certified translation for CSUDH?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to CSUDH
Upload the certified translation together with the copy of the original record to the International Applicant Dropbox, with the coversheet (International applicants: required documentation).
The official sealed records come from your school or a vendor after admission; we can email the translation directly to the admissions office on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For CSUDH that means we translate your records and syllabi; a NACES report used in place of sealed records comes from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does CSUDH require a certified translation?
Yes, for records not officially issued in English, submitted with the original (International applicants: required documentation). It does not say who must translate; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do graduate applicants follow the same rule?
Yes: photocopies of all college and university records, with certified English translations (International applicants: required documentation).
My school cannot send sealed transcripts. What can I do?
Ask a NACES member, preferably ECE, ERES, IEE, IERF, TEC or WES, for a report that includes copies of your records; CSUDH accepts it as the original (International applicants: required documentation).
Do my course syllabi need to be in English?
Yes, if you want courses to count toward a degree requirement (International application checklist).
When are documents due?
June 1 for fall and November 29 for spring undergraduate applicants (International application checklist).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
