How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Baruch's Zicklin School of Business requires graduate applicants educated outside the US to submit a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member showing the degree equals a US bachelor's, most often from TEC, ECE or WES, and accountancy applicants add a NASBA evaluation.

Baruch's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You translate first, then the agency evaluates; the evaluation is something we do not provide, and undergraduate applicants follow CUNY's central rules.

The Evaluation Company (formerly SpanTran), ECE and WES; with WES, the WES Basic course-by-course package is recommended (Zicklin graduate admissions: international applicants).

Accountancy

MBA and MS in Accountancy applicants also submit a NASBA evaluation for CPA examination and licensure (Zicklin graduate admissions: international applicants).

Undergraduate

Through CUNY's central application and its Document Translation Guidelines.

Zicklin reads a NACES report, not your translation

Zicklin's admissions committee wants to see that a foreign degree is comparable to a US bachelor's, and it gets that from an evaluation: applicants educated outside the US submit a course-by-course report, and Zicklin accepts reports only from NACES members.

The agencies it receives most often are The Evaluation Company, ECE and WES; for WES it suggests the WES Basic course-by-course package as one of the fastest ways to get your record to Baruch (Zicklin graduate admissions: international applicants).

Accountancy applicants need a second report.

MBA and MS in Accountancy candidates also submit a NASBA evaluation for CPA examination and licensure, which advisors use to plan the courses New York requires (Zicklin graduate admissions: international applicants).

Each agency may want its own copy of the translation; order one certified translation and reuse it.

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES requires an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation agency, uploaded in your WES account, and does not translate itself (WES).

ECE accepts any complete, literal translation in the original format, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report (ECE).

The Evaluation Company accepts outside translations only from a translator certified by ATA (TEC); eVerbary can assign one through a free quote.

Undergraduates: CUNY decides

First-year and transfer applicants to Baruch apply through CUNY's central application, whose translation guidelines and free evaluation option are explained on the CUNY page. The Zicklin rule above is for graduate business programs.

Need a certified translation for Baruch?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • University transcripts, every year
  • Bachelor's degree certificate
  • Graduate transcripts and degrees, if any
  • Course descriptions, if NASBA or the agency asks

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Baruch

  • Upload unofficial transcripts in the online application for the decision; the NACES agency sends its course-by-course report.

After an offer, the issuing institution sends official transcripts to ZicklinGradAdmissions@baruch.cuny.edu through a secure service, or by mail (Zicklin graduate admissions: application components).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Baruch that means we translate your transcripts and degree for the agency; the NACES course-by-course and any NASBA evaluation are ordered by you.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
