How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Aurora University requires official evaluations of all high school and college transcripts from outside the US by a NACES member, sent directly by the agency: a general evaluation with GPA for high school, and a course-by-course evaluation for transfer and graduate students; its preferred members are SpanTran, WES and ECE.
Aurora University's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary, and for SpanTran eVerbary provides an ATA-certified translator on request. The evaluation itself is something we do not produce.
Aurora University at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Aurora University requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; transcripts from outside the US reach AU through a NACES evaluation (International students).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Evaluation
All high school and college transcripts from outside the US, by a NACES member, sent directly to the Office of Admission (International students).
Report type
High school: a general evaluation verifying the transcripts with GPA. Transfer and graduate: course by course, with original or authenticated documents (International students).
Preferred members
SpanTran (discount), WES, ECE, other NACES members (International students).
Transfer credit
The transfer guidelines say international transcripts must be evaluated by ECE or WES before AU reviews them (transfer guidelines).
What the preferred agencies ask for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate. ECE accepts any complete, literal translation, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, carries AU's discount but requires an outside translator certified by ATA, or translates after your application is complete.
If you take the SpanTran discount, ask eVerbary for a free quote for an ATA-certified translator and say it is for TEC.
Where Aurora's pages differ
The international admission page accepts any NACES member and names SpanTran first.
The transfer credit guidelines say all international transcripts must be evaluated by ECE or WES before they can be reviewed, and you pay the evaluation fees.
If you are a transfer student and want both admission and credit from one report, WES or ECE satisfies both pages.

Uploading the translation to Aurora University
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the agency sends the official evaluation directly to AU's Office of Admission (International students).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Aurora University, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Aurora University that means we translate your records; the general or course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Which evaluation does Aurora University need for my high school record?
A general evaluation that verifies the transcripts with GPA, from a NACES member (International students).
Which agencies does AU prefer?
SpanTran (with a discount), WES and ECE, or other NACES members (International students). For transfer credit the guidelines name ECE or WES (Guidelines for evaluating credit).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for SpanTran?
Yes, through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Can I send the evaluation myself?
No. It must come directly from the agency (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
