What we translate

Chinese legal systems, not just Chinese

Mainland, Taiwanese and Hong Kong documents come from three different legal systems, in Simplified or Traditional characters; Taiwanese dates use the Minguo calendar. The translation follows the system and keeps the original document numbers exactly.

For courts and law firms

Courts set their own rules for translated exhibits; our certification states the translator's competence and the translation's accuracy, and we can follow a court's form when you send it. Firms get team accounts, the client and matter number on every invoice and monthly invoicing — see for law firms and court translations. Our Chinese page covers civil documents.

Frequently asked questions

Can you translate Chinese court documents for a US court?

Yes, with a signed certification of accuracy. Some courts require a translator from their own roster or a sworn statement in a particular form; check the court's rules before ordering, and tell us if a specific form is required.

Do you translate the whole document?

Yes: every page, seal, stamp, signature block and marginal note. A partial translation of a legal document can be challenged.

What does it cost?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certified. For long files that only need to be read — discovery, background — ask for a quote for standard translation.
