Registro Civil under the electoral tribunal
Panamanian births are registered by the Registro Civil, which forms part of the Tribunal Electoral, and the same body issues the cédula. Certificates show the registered person, the parents, and the tome and entry that locate the inscription in the registry.
Current certificates are printed from the registry system; older ones are transcriptions from the books, and their layout follows the period rather than a single national template.
What travels with it
