The divorce is an annotation on the marriage record
The dissolution is recorded as a marginal annotation against the marriage entry rather than as a standalone certificate, so a copy of the certificado de matrimonio issued before the divorce shows a marriage still in force — with nothing on it to suggest anything is missing. What an office usually wants is a current copy from the municipal civil registry showing the annotation, alongside the judgment itself.
