The título and the cédula profesional
A Mexican degree produces two documents. The título profesional is the degree itself, conferred by the institution and registered with the education ministry. The cédula profesional is the professional licence number issued by the SEP, without which the holder cannot practise a regulated profession in Mexico.
They are not interchangeable and an evaluator or a US licensing board may want both. The cédula is a registry number and is reproduced exactly, never translated. See our Mexican academic transcript page.
The qualification is translated by name, not by asserted equivalence
We translate what the degree is called and leave what it is worth to a credential evaluator. Saying a qualification "is equivalent to a US bachelor's degree" is an evaluation rather than a translation, and it is a claim a translator has no standing to make — evaluators are paid to make it, they carry the liability for it, and they do not always agree with one another.
That matters most where a name looks familiar and is not. A Diplom is not a diploma, a Licenciatura is not a licence, a Laurea is not a laureate. We give the original term, a literal rendering and the level the institution itself states, and stop there. What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

A standard translation is for business or personal use where certification is not needed, such as CVs, client intake forms or marketing material, and is billed at the same $24.95 per page of up to 250 words.
