A registration certificate, not a title

Kyrgyzstan issues no document called a title. Ownership of a vehicle is shown by the registration certificate issued by the state vehicle and driver registration service, long known as Unaa, which registers ownership and issues plates. It names the owner and gives the make and model, year, colour, VIN and plate number.

The leading digits of a Kyrgyz plate give the region — 01 for Bishkek, 08 for Chüy — and region 10 is used for foreign-plated cars legalised under a special procedure, whose owners may not sell, gift or pledge them. That matters if the document is meant to show you could dispose of the car. See our Kyrgyz page.

Importing a car, or proving a sale

When a vehicle is brought into the United States, US Customs and the state DMV ask for proof of ownership with a translation, and the Kyrgyz registration certificate does the job a foreign title does. Ask the port and the DMV what else they require. See our DMV translation page.

Sale contracts, deregistration records and customs papers from the Eurasian Economic Union often come with it, usually in Russian. We translate every field, with VIN, engine and body numbers copied character by character. See our Kyrgyz driver's license page.

What USCIS requires

Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

State agencies set their own rules — see government agencies — and what our certification states is on this page.

How it works

Upload a photo or a scan of your document, pick the language pair and check out online. You never have to mail originals: a legible copy is all we need.

A professional human translator, never machine translation, translates the document word for word and mirrors the layout of the original. Every certified translation ships with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets the requirements of USCIS, courts and universities.

Your translation is delivered digitally, usually within 24 hours for documents of one to three pages, and same-day delivery is available. If anything needs adjusting, we revise it.

Certified vs. standard translation

A certified translation is a word-for-word translation accompanied by a signed statement attesting to its accuracy and completeness. It is what official bodies require: USCIS, courts, universities and government agencies. Certified translations are $24.95 per page, where one sheet of your document is one page, with no word cap.

A standard translation is the same professional human translation without the certificate, for when you only need to understand the content or for internal or informal use. It is billed at the same $24.95 per page with no word cap.

Frequently asked questions

Kyrgyzstan doesn't have titles. What do I send?

The vehicle registration certificate. It is the document that shows ownership there.

My plate starts with 10.

That region is used for legalised foreign-plated cars, which carry restrictions on sale and transfer. We translate the plate and any restriction exactly as shown.

Do you check the VIN?

We copy it character by character from the original. Checking it against the vehicle is for the DMV or Customs.

Ready to get started?

Upload your documents and receive your certified translation, typically within 24 hours.
