The -né form, and what it does to a name
Hungarian married-name conventions go further than most, and a marriage certificate is where they show. A woman's legal name can become her husband's complete name plus the suffix -né, containing none of her own given name — so "Nagy Istvánné" is the legal name of the wife of István Nagy.
That is her legal name, not an error and not a title. Several other combinations are permitted and the certificate records which was chosen. The translation explains the form rather than reconstructing something more familiar, because a name reconstructed here stops matching every other document she holds.
Surname first, and older registries
Hungarian writes the family name before the given name, so a document reading "Nagy István" is Mr István Nagy. A translation that carries the order across without saying so hands a US office a reversed name. We make the order explicit.
