How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
West Texas A&M University's Graduate School asks permanent residents and US applicants who studied outside the US for an official foreign credential evaluation from one of nine approved agencies, each with a required report type, mailed by the agency to the Graduate School.
WT's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and FCSA, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation, which also converts your GPA, is something we do not produce.
WT at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
WT asks for an evaluation from a university-approved agency (foreign credential evaluation services), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule), as do ECE, FCSA, Educational Perspectives and IEE; TEC, GCE and IACE want a translator certified by ATA. WT requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the agency needs the translation of documents not in English (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Who may translate
Set by the agency; see below.
Who needs an evaluation
Permanent residents and US applicants who attended institutions outside the US; international applicants also follow International Student Services (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Required report
WES and GCE: course by course; FCSA: detailed evaluation of coursework; SDR: full evaluation; ECE and Educational Perspectives: course-by-course; TEC: divisional course analysis; IEE: education course report (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
What it covers
Transcripts, graduate certificates, exit exams and scores, with US equivalency and a converted GPA (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Where it goes
Mailed by the agency to WTAMU Graduate School, Box 60215, Canyon TX 79016; couriers to 2403 Russell Long Blvd. (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator; select West Texas A&M as a recipient. ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
FCSA accepts certified translations from most professional agencies.
Educational Perspectives accepts a reputable translation agency or a certified professional translator, and IEE wants a certified translator, not the client or a notary.
The Evaluation Company, GCE and IACE accept only translators certified by the American Translators Association. For those, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say which agency it is for: we assign a translator individually certified by ATA for the languages ATA certifies.
Pick the report WT names
WT lists the exact report to request from each agency, and the names differ: a course-by-course report at WES, ECE, GCE and Educational Perspectives, a detailed evaluation of coursework at FCSA, a full evaluation at SDR, a divisional course analysis at TEC and an education course report at IEE (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Documents required vary by agency and by country, so WT asks you to check with your agency before sending anything. Translate every transcript, certificate and exit exam you send, because the evaluation converts your GPA from them.
Need a certified translation for WT?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts and mark sheets
- Degree and graduate certificates
- Exit exam results and scores
- Any other record your agency asks for
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to WT
The translation goes to the agency with your documents; the agency mails the evaluation report to the Graduate School, Box 60215, Canyon TX 79016 (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For WT that means we translate your records; the evaluation, with the report type WT names, is ordered by you from an approved agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does WT require a translation or an evaluation?
An official foreign credential evaluation from an approved agency (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services); the agency asks for the translation.
Which agencies does WT approve?
WES, FCSA, GCE, SDR, IACE, ECE, The Evaluation Company, Educational Perspectives and IEE (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Which report should I order?
The one WT names for your agency, for example course by course at WES or a divisional course analysis at TEC (Graduate School: foreign credential evaluation services).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC, GCE or IACE?
Yes, on request through a free quote: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian at $34.95 per page, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian at $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
