How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Bluegrass Community and Technical College publishes no translation rule of its own: anyone who attended an accredited college outside the US must submit a course-by-course transcript evaluation from a NACES member before being admitted, while high school credentials are not evaluated.
BCTC's evaluation agencies, such as IEE, WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

BCTC requirements in detail
Translation
BCTC states no translation rule; foreign college records are read through a NACES evaluation (Foreign credential evaluation). The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency: IEE, WES and ECE accept professional translations; The Evaluation Company wants an ATA-certified translator.
Evaluation
A course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, required before admission if you attended an accredited college abroad; your admissions officer tells you by email whether it applies (Foreign credential evaluation).
High school
High school credentials do not need evaluation; applicants without college study submit official secondary transcripts or equivalent documents (Foreign credential evaluation, apply).
Agencies
The Evaluation Company and International Education Evaluations have BCTC request pages; any NACES member may be used (Foreign credential evaluation).
Proof of funds
In English, on a certified bank document, with the financial verification form (International students: apply).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
BCTC lets you choose any NACES member and has set up request pages with two (foreign credential evaluation). IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary, and also sells translations.
The Evaluation Company accepts outside translators only if certified by ATA, or translates in-house; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request through a free quote.
Among other NACES members, WES wants a word-for-word professional translation, and ECE accepts a complete, literal translation, including your own, or sells an $85 waiver.
Help BCTC place your courses
BCTC says it is very likely that some of your earlier coursework will transfer, and asks for as much information about your courses as you can give: a syllabus, a course outline or course descriptions from your school (Foreign credential evaluation).
If those are not in English, a translation makes them usable for the comparison. It also warns that foreign credits may transfer differently if you later move from BCTC to another US college.

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- College or university transcripts, for the course-by-course evaluation
- Degree or diploma certificates from college study abroad
- Syllabi or course descriptions
- Secondary transcripts or equivalent documents (applicants without college study)
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to BCTC
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records; you tell the agency to send the evaluation to Bluegrass Community and Technical College (Foreign credential evaluation).
After you apply, BCTC emails a list of the items still needed, including whether an evaluated transcript is required (Foreign credential evaluation).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For BCTC that means we translate your college records and course descriptions; the NACES course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you and sent by the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does BCTC require a certified translation?
BCTC itself states no translation rule; it requires a NACES course-by-course evaluation for college study abroad (Foreign credential evaluation), and the agency sets the translation rule.
Must my high school transcript be evaluated?
No. BCTC says high school credentials do not need evaluation; only college-level transcripts do (Foreign credential evaluation).
Which agency should I use?
Any NACES member; The Evaluation Company and IEE have BCTC request pages (Foreign credential evaluation).
Will The Evaluation Company accept an eVerbary translation?
TEC accepts outside translators only if certified by ATA (TEC). eVerbary can provide one on request: $34.95 per page for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian, $44.95 for Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
