There are two, and only one of them is accepted
Vietnam issues two judicial record cards (phiếu lý lịch tư pháp) and they are not interchangeable:
- No. 1 records unexpunged convictions only. An expunged conviction shows as no record at all.
- No. 2 records everything, including expunged convictions with their expungement dates.
For a US immigrant visa, order No. 2
The US mission in Vietnam does not accept the No. 1 card, precisely because it leaves out expunged convictions. Applicants who order the cheaper, more common No. 1 discover this after it arrives, and the round trip costs weeks.
Check the requirement for your specific filing before ordering anything — from Vietnam or from us. Once you have it, we translate it in full, including the statement that nothing was found, which is what most applicants need the document to say. What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

A standard translation is for business or personal use where certification is not needed, such as CVs, client intake forms or marketing material, and is billed at the same $24.95 per page of up to 250 words.
